The Youth Partnership coordinates VET Work Placement opportunities for high school students across the Sydney region as part of the Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) Program. This initiative is funded by the NSW Government through the Department of Education and delivered in collaboration with Sydney Catholic Schools NSW and the Association of Independent Schools of NSW.

Terry Bieri, Director of Strategy Constructions, joined the Structured Workplace Learning Program in February 2023. Since this date, Terry has hosted over 85 VET Construction Work Placement students. The goal of a student's work placement is to gain specific industry competencies, which are assessed by teachers. If the student is successful in achieving industry competencies, they will receive an industry-specific VET qualification which is recognised throughout Australia.

Strategy Constructions along with Terry and his team are an asset to the Work Placement program.

Terry has been an integral member of a team which I have been leading, which has been aiming to consolidate resources and upgrade facilities for the Baptist Churches of NSW and ACT in the Souther Sydney Region. In particular Terry was a crucial consultant in the planning for a development of the Hurstville Baptist Church site.

At all times Terry has been a highly valued team member. He brought his vast experience and expertise to the task at hand. He clearly operates his business ventures with a high degree of integrity and honesty, being trustworthy, patient and wise.

Terry took time to understand our vision and was aligned with the values and purposes of the church and our team. His extensive industry knowledge and practical experience have proven invaluable in helping students gain a deeper understanding of the construction industry. Terry consistently provides a supportive, and educational environment for students, ensuring they are exposed to real-world practices and standards.

Safety Practices

Terry places a strong emphasis on safety, which is evident in the way he conducts his worksite and supervises students. He ensures that all students are properly inducted into the workplace, are aware of relevant safety protocols, and are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). His proactive approach to safety not only protects students but also installs in them a professional attitude towards workplace health and safety, which is an essential component of their VET Construction training.

Building or renovating ones home is in most cases the single biggest financial investment and/or commitment most people make in their lifetime. Given the expense involved with such an undertaking choosing the right team to carry out the job is no easy task.
